You know those children who are very talkative and outgoing. They claim the space as if they belong there. They are loud and carefree. I hated that as a child — because I could never be one of them.
I was the quiet one. Shy, silent, sincere, and serious. What people didn't realise — what I didn't realise for a long time — is that no child is naturally like that. Children who are careful, contained, controlled are not mature. They are just afraid.
